Sugar processing factory in Rwanda to be constructed
A sugar processing factory in Rwanda is set to be constructed by Mauritius Investors; this is after the Government gave the financiers the go ahead to set it up.
The new processing factory in Rwanda will have the ability of producing 100, 000 tonnes of sugar annually and this will help the country realize the efforts for the economy to be self-sufficient in terms of sugar production by the year 2020.
Mega gas plant in Tanzania to be constructed
Tanzania’s Minister for Energy and Minerals, Professor Sospeter Muhongo has revealed that the government intends to invest at least 30 billion USD towards the construction of a mega gas plant in Tanzania in Lindi area.
Mega Tanzanian power line to be ready by 2018
A Mega Tanzanian power line is scheduled to be completed in the next two years paving way for the country to sign power trade agreements with member states of the East African Community after completion of the 400 kilovolt Mega Tanzanian power line .
Sospeter Muhongo, the Minister for Minerals and Energy said last week that the first phase $453.7 Mega Tanzanian power line project that is 670 kilometres long from Iringa in the southern highlands of the country to Shinyanga on the outskirts of Lake Victoria, will be complete by 2018.
Construction of Ethiopia-Kenya power transmission line begins
A Chinese firm has began the construction of a major power transmission line project within Ethiopia. The firm China Electric Power Equipment and Technology (CET) announced Monday that it had officially commenced the construction of the Ethiopia-Kenya power transmission line
Expected to cost USD1.26 billion the Ethiopia-Kenya power transmission line is financed by the African Development Bank. It runs about 1,045km, of which 445km is within Ethiopia’s territory and the rest in Kenya.
