Volkswagen targets wider East Africa with car assembly plant in Kenya
Car maker Volkswagen(VW) has announced a major comeback into the wider East Africa market with the establishment of a car assembly plant in Kenya to resume producing cars by the end of 2016 four decades after it paused operations in Kenya.
Volkswagen South Africa’s Chief Executive confirmed the news and said that VW will establish a car assembly plant in Kenya to primarily produce its new Vivo model
Construction work on US$ 150 health university in Rwanda begins
Construction of a health university in Rwanda worth US$ 150m has kicked off in Burera district, Northern Province Governor, Mr. Aime Bosenibamwe has confirmed.
Mr Bosenibamwe said that construction works to set up the institution dubbed the University of Global Health Equity (UGHE) in Rwanda has commenced.

The US$ 140m Menlyn Maine Central Square in Pretoria, South Africa is set to start operations soon.
Henk Boogertman, Architectural Director for Menlyn Maine Investment Holdings confirmed the news and said that development located near the Menlyn Park Shopping Centre which sits on a 65 000m² space can be described as a unique boutique-style mall. It will accommodate 50 hand-picked retailers, restaurants and entertainment experiences.
Leading spices maker to construct mega factory in Kenya
Leading manufacturer of spices and snacks in the East African region Tropical Heat Limited is set to construct mega factory in Kenya to boost its production capacity.the US$ 4.5m mega factory in Kenya is being supported by International Finance Corporation (IFC).
In a statement IFC said that due to congestion that has been obstructing the company’s growth the financial support was necessary to boost the firm’s expansion plans.
