Construction of Morocco’s First solar thermodynamic plant in good course

The construction of Morocco’s first solar energy thermodynamic plant is in good course and will be completed on time.
According to Enerray Morocco, the power plant which is based in Guerir, Ville Vert Mohammed VI, Green Energy Park site, 70 km from Marrakech will is expected to be one of its kind.

The plant construction which is using Concentrating Solar Power(CSP) technology is one the largest power project that is currently being carried in the Northern Africa Country.
Enneray won the tender that was published by IRESEN (Institut de Recherche en Energie Solaire et en Energie Nouvelles) to carry out the one MW power Plant with unique and innovative features for the Country:
According to the officials they have applied the LFC (Linear Fresnel Concentrator) which contains flat mirrors and a total area of 11.400 square meters.
The project which was allocated a budget of 6.000.000 EUR has already started and involves the local companies. The local companies got a share of more than 20% of the total plant value, meaning a great integration between Italian and Moroccan Companies.
The funds for carrying out the project were drived by OCP (Office Chérifien des Phosphates) which is one of the world’s leading manufacturer of phosphate rock and derivatives.
According to OCP their main reason to fund the project is to help the country realize its strategic position in renewable energy.
Besides carrying out the project Enerray has currently installed a small PTC (Parabolic Trough Concentrator) with parabolic mirrors:
The company officials has said that they are committed towards ensuring that the power plant ends on time and that will be actualized through committing the companies that they have partnered with.

This is also one of the projects that have put morocco ahead of the rest as they ensure they get on top of other countries in terms of renewable energy.
