Reduced price of petroleum products pushed down taxi fares in Dar e Salaam

Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA) declared fuel price cut based on droping of global prices. It has been reported that for Dar e Salaam, petrol price dropped by 141/- per liter, diesel 212/- per liter and kerosene by 167/- a liter.

 

This reduced prices of petroleum products has also reduced the taxi fares in some parts of Dar e Salaam city.

 

This reduction will increase their saving while also have extra power to make extra purchase of fuel or other necessary household items.


A city motorist who is residing in Segerea, named Leonard Joseph commented, "this reduction is something that will be directed to family needs and the saving from fuel will make our life slightly easier."

 

One of the taxi driver at Tazara station, Mr. Salehe Nyagongo said that they have decreased the prices considerably and the fares have been reduced from 15000/- to 10000/-  This allows many passengers to use taxi has it has lowered the prices.

 

The survey also specified that bodaboda fare from Tazara to Mbagala reduced to 4000/- from 5000/-
